Visual anatomy & craft review
Brownie the Bear is a chunky mixed-case marker alphabet with stout rounded stems, open bowls and a gentle bounce that reads as a friendly hand rather than a script. Because the letters are disconnected and the weight is uniform, the face cuts cleanly in vinyl, prints at 10 mm on a cubby label and grows to 100 mm on a nursery sign without losing character. The counters are generous, which matters when a small child is learning to recognise letters, and the face looks best in a warm brown or a soft cream on a mid-tone ground.

Concrete hierarchy, scale and production guidance tailored to Brownie the Bear’s stroke geometry.
Chunky rounded stems read as a bear's handwriting, which is the narrative shortcut a picnic-themed book or party needs. Open bowls keep the letters legible at a distance on a sign read by toddlers.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Sign 400 x 300 mm, word 70 mm, 30 mm margins. Onesie print 110 x 90 mm, name 26 mm, 20 mm below the neckline. Cover 216 x 216 mm, title 44 pt, 15 mm margins.
Pre-production check
Onesie prints stretch across a wriggling child and a heavy letter can crack at the shoulder seam. Keep the artwork 20 mm clear of seams, and wash one printed onesie twice before ordering a set.
Friendly chunky letters read as a child's book rather than a party catalogue, which keeps a first birthday ownable. Heavy stems hold on a small jar label where a fine script would vanish.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Banner letters 140 mm on 2 mm card, 5 mm hole, 30 mm margins, 40 mm pitch. Jar label 55 x 45 mm, word 8 mm, 3 mm top arc. Seal 40 mm round, word 7 mm, 2 mm die margin.
Pre-production check
Jar labels meet sticky fingers and fridge condensation, and a paper label lifts at the corner within days. Use a synthetic label, round the corners, and test one filled jar for a week before the party.
A warm storybook hand is legible to a pre-reader and reassuring to a parent, which is what a cubby tag has to do at 10 mm. The plain shapes take a laminated name without the counters filling.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Tag 80 x 40 mm, name 9 mm, 3 mm border, 4 mm corner radius. Nook sign 300 x 200 mm, word 30 mm, 20 mm margins. Sticker 40 mm round, name 6 mm, 2 mm die margin.
Pre-production check
Cubby tags are handled by four-year-olds and paper tags fray at the corner first. Laminate at 250 micron or print on a rigid PVC card, and check one tag after a week clipped to a cubby.
