Fine grain and micro-texture excel in 300 DPI print, sublimation, and screen print rather than small vinyl weeding.
Visual anatomy & craft review
BrideChalk is a four-part wedding chalkboard family of a script, a sans, a serif and a set of drawn extras: the script is a chalk-textured calligraphy, the sans is a narrow caps face for headings, the serif carries the small print and the extras supply wreaths, arrows and laurels. All four share one dusty texture so a board reads as one surface. The chalk grain fills first on textured panels and the extras need room. The script needs roughly 24 mm and the extras 30 mm for their detail to read.

A chalk family with extras lets one board carry a title, a list and an ornament in a single hand-made texture. The script holds at 40 mm on a welcome board, and the narrow caps keep a long seating list readable.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Welcome board 600 x 900 mm, script 60 mm with 10 mm grain clearance, caps 26 mm, 30 mm margins. Seating chart 400 x 600 mm, names 12 mm, 20 mm margins. Menu 120 x 210 mm, header 16 pt, courses 9/12 pt.
Pre-production check
A 400 x 600 mm chart set at 12 mm fills the chalk grain and the names read as grey smudges in a dim room. Raise the chart names to 16 mm, and read one chart at the venue light before the day.
A chalk family gives a venue a hand-written board language rather than a printed logo. The script holds the name at 30 mm, and the serif carries the address at 9 pt on the same panel.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Board 600 x 400 mm, script 60 mm, serif 18 mm, 25 mm margins. Card 85 x 55 mm, script 16 mm, serif 8 pt, 5 mm margins. Chalk decal 200 x 300 mm, script 40 mm, 20 mm margins.
Pre-production check
A 200 x 300 mm decal at 40 mm traps air under the vinyl and the chalk texture turns into bubbles. Use a wet-apply method or a printed panel, and apply one decal before the run.
A chalk script gives a February board the look of a written note rather than a printed heart. The script holds at 26 pt on a card, and the extras supply an arrow or wreath without extra artwork.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Card A6, script 26 pt with 8 mm grain clearance, note 8/11 pt, 12 mm margins. Table card 90 x 50 mm, name 12 pt, 4 mm margins. Board 400 x 600 mm, script 50 mm, 20 mm margins.
Pre-production check
At 12 pt on a table card the chalk grain disappears and the name reads as a plain script in the wrong texture. Raise table cards to 16 pt or print them on the same board stock, and proof one card before the set.
