Loose rounded mixed case with pale internal webs and tiny dangling spiders
Black Spider is a spooky hand-drawn face in which each letter carries a spider web drawn across its counter, with a small spider hanging from a thread beside the word.

Sturdy stroke walls and open counters weed cleanly on adhesive vinyl, HTV apparel film, and cut cardstock.
Visual anatomy & craft review
Black Spider fills the card in a loose black marker line on a grey ground, and the letters are drawn by hand rather than constructed: the strokes wobble, the bowls are uneven and the caps vary in width. Inside the counters of most letters a spider web is drawn in fine radiating lines, and a few small spiders hang on threads beside the words. The face is a single weight with no fill, so the webs read as part of the letter shape rather than as a pattern laid behind it. A bar at the foot carries a caption in a contrasted nameplate style. The style is deliberately homemade: it looks like a sign written for a school Halloween party, and it works at a range of sizes because the webs are drawn simply, though they close up below about 24 pt.

Concrete hierarchy, scale and production guidance tailored to Black Spider’s stroke geometry.
The handmade look suits a school event better than a polished display face, and the webs inside the letters carry the theme without a printed decoration.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print an A3 poster: set the event name at 80 pt across two rows, keep 26 mm of clear ground beneath before the times at 14 pt, and hold 24 mm of margin so no hanging spider is cut.
Pre-production check
The fine webs close below 24 pt; print one poster at the final size and check a counter before the run.
The face makes a small card feel made by hand, and the hanging spiders give a short greeting a second element without a picture behind it.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 105 by 148 mm invitation: set the greeting at 36 pt across two rows, keep 15 mm of clear ground beneath before the details at 8.5 pt, and hold 12 mm of margin from the hanging spider to the card edge.
Pre-production check
Thin threads break in a cheap print; print one card on the intended stock and check the smallest spider first.
The lettering sets the mood of a story exercise, and the plain black line copies cleanly on a school photocopier set to one tone.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print an A4 sheet: set the header at 34 pt on one row, keep 14 mm of clear ground beneath before the first question at 11 pt, and hold 16 mm of margin at both sides.
Pre-production check
Photocopiers lose hairline webs; copy one sheet on the classroom machine and check the counters survive.
