Visual anatomy & craft review
Bhore Punk is a slashed stencil-cut punk and streetwear display: squared letters cut through by three or four parallel slashes, with hard corners, a slightly uneven baseline and small torn bridges left holding the pieces together. The slashes are the design and they merge into solid notches as soon as the face is reduced. It needs roughly 30 mm for the slash and the bridge to read, and it is best as a one-colour vinyl cut or a flat two-colour print on uncoated stock.

A slashed stencil turns a music zine into a hand-cut headline. The slashes hold at 44 pt on an uncoated page, and one ink keeps the torn bridges crisp.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Header 44 pt with 10 mm slash clearance, body 9/13 pt over two columns of 82 mm, 18 mm margins and a 12 mm head. Opener 36 pt with 10 mm of clear ground beside the image. Pull quote 32 pt with 8 mm above and 8 mm below.
Pre-production check
At 32 pt on the pull quote the slashes fill into notches and the quote reads as a barbed block. Keep the face at 40 pt and above, and proof one copy at 1:1.
A slashed stencil reads as a cut warning rather than a cartoon monster. The slashes hold at 120 mm on a poster, and one ink prints the poster and the tickets in one order.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Poster A2, word 120 mm with 14 mm slash clearance, details 40 mm, 20 mm margins. Ticket 100 x 50 mm, word 14 mm, 4 mm perforation. Door sign 250 x 350 mm, word 60 mm, 20 mm margins.
Pre-production check
A 100 x 50 mm ticket at 14 mm merges the bridges into the stroke and the word reads as a solid bar. Raise the ticket to 20 mm, and print one ticket before the batch.
A slashed stencil reads as a sprayed streetwear mark rather than a corporate logo. The slashes hold at 30 mm on a label, and one vinyl colour covers the decal and the label print.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Label 90 x 60 mm, word 30 mm with 8 mm slash clearance, 5 mm die margin. Window decal 400 x 200 mm, word 60 mm, 25 mm margins. Card 85 x 55 mm, word 20 mm, 5 mm margins.
Pre-production check
A 400 x 200 mm decal at 60 mm has 1.5 mm bridges that tear while weeding. Keep bridges at 3 mm or above, and weed one decal before the run.
