Open counter bridges hold interior islands intact on laser-cut wood, acrylic, and mylar stencils.
Visual anatomy & craft review
Barista Stencil is an open-loop bridged stencil calligraphy script made for wood and metal cutting: a loaded brush stroke with cut-through bridges across every loop, ragged edges and a firm slant that reads as a routed sign. The bridges are structural, and a bridge that is too thin disappears in a router or a plasma cutter. It needs roughly 32 mm for the bridge and the brush edge to read, and it is best as a routed or engraved one-colour job, or a stencilled ink on a flat surface.

An open-loop stencil script is what a café actually needs to route a wooden sign or dust cocoa through a template. The bridges hold at 60 mm on a plaque, and one process covers the plaque and the cups in one order.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Wood plaque 600 x 400 mm, word 90 mm with 12 mm bridge clearance, 25 mm margins. Cup print 70 x 50 mm, word 16 mm, 5 mm margins. Card 85 x 55 mm, word 16 mm, 5 mm margins.
Pre-production check
A 70 x 50 mm cocoa template at 16 mm has bridges thinner than the grain and the loops flood. Keep stencils at 28 mm with 3 mm bridges, and dust one cup before the batch.
A stencil script reads as a routed acknowledgement rather than a printed note, which is what a maker wants on a gift crate. The bridges hold at 30 mm on a crate, and one cut covers the crate and the tags in one order.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Crate print 300 x 200 mm, word 60 mm with 10 mm bridge clearance, 20 mm margins. Tag 50 x 90 mm, word 20 mm, 5 mm hole with 8 mm clear. Card A6, word 22 mm, 8/11 pt, 12 mm margins.
Pre-production check
A 50 x 90 mm vinyl tag at 20 mm has 1.5 mm bridges that tear during weeding. Keep tags at 28 mm or cut them from 3 mm board, and test one before the batch.
A bridged stencil is what a stall actually needs to spray crates in one pass. The bridges hold at 90 mm on a crate, and one ink covers the crate, the sign and the cards in one order.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Crate stencil 300 x 200 mm, word 60 mm with 10 mm bridge clearance, 20 mm margins. Sign 900 x 600 mm, word 120 mm, 25 mm margins. Price card 105 x 75 mm, item 18 mm, price 24 mm.
Pre-production check
A 105 x 75 mm price card at 18 mm fills the brush edge and the item reads as a bar in low light. Raise the item to 24 mm, and check one card under the market lamp.
