Open counter bridges hold interior islands intact on laser-cut wood, acrylic, and mylar stencils.
Visual anatomy & craft review
Gythar is a bold open-loop stencil brush script made for signs and cocoa dusters: a heavy loaded stroke with cut-through bridges across the loops, ragged brush edges and a firm slant that reads as painted on a board. The bridges are structural for a stencil and the ragged edge is the finest element. It needs roughly 30 mm for the bridge and the brush edge to read, and it is best as a one-colour stencil cut, or a single dense ink where the bridges print as cut-throughs.

An open-loop stencil script is what a café actually needs to dust cocoa through a template, so the face is the tool. The bridges hold at 30 mm on a board, and one ink covers the board and the cards in one order.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Board 600 x 900 mm, word 100 mm with 12 mm bridge clearance, items 26 mm, 30 mm margins. Cup print 70 x 50 mm, word 16 mm, 5 mm margins. Card 85 x 55 mm, word 16 mm, 5 mm margins.
Pre-production check
A 70 x 50 mm cocoa stencil at 16 mm has bridges thinner than the cocoa grain and the loops flood. Keep stencils at 28 mm with 3 mm bridges, and dust one cup before the batch.
A stencil brush script reads as a painted wall sign rather than a printed logo, which is what a sign painter wants on a shopfront. The bridges hold at 120 mm on a wall, and one ink covers the wall and the cards in one order.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Wall sign 1200 x 600 mm, word 180 mm with 15 mm bridge clearance, 40 mm safe edge. Card 85 x 55 mm, word 16 mm, 5 mm margins. Door plate 300 x 80 mm, word 40 mm, 10 mm margins.
Pre-production check
A 300 x 80 mm door plate at 40 mm closes the bridges and the mark reads as a solid ribbon. Raise the plate to 50 mm or keep bridges at 3 mm, and check one plate before the run.
An open-loop stencil is what a stall actually needs to spray crates in one pass. The bridges hold at 90 mm on a crate, and one ink covers the crate and the sign in one order.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Crate stencil 300 x 200 mm, word 60 mm with 10 mm bridge clearance, 20 mm margins. Sign 900 x 600 mm, word 120 mm, 25 mm margins. Price card 105 x 75 mm, item 18 mm, price 24 mm.
Pre-production check
A 105 x 75 mm price card at 18 mm fills the brush edge and the item reads as a bar in low light. Raise the item to 24 mm, and check one card under the market lamp.
