High-contrast serif with small capitals
Tim Burton Serif is a high-contrast serif in black on a pale watercolour page: thin bracketed serifs, a large contrast between stems and hairlines, mixed case with small capitals, and two black stars balanced at either side of the block.

Visual anatomy & craft review
The words are set in two lines and the face is a serif with a literary temperament: the capitals are wide with fine bracketed serifs, the lowercase carries a tall x-height and short ascenders, the contrast between the thick stems and the hairline joins is pronounced but not extreme, and the sample mixes cases so that small capitals follow the initial letters. The letters are spaced a little wide, which gives the block a quiet, printed air, and the ending of the second line runs a touch shorter than the first to keep the block from looking square. Two drawn five-point stars sit low at either side, and a ruled box at the foot carries the collection name in small tracked capitals. The ground is a pale blue-grey watercolour wash with soft edges. Tim Burton Serif is a serif for book covers, editorial titles, invitations and packaging with a literary or gothic mood, and it needs a generous measure and a size above about sixteen points.

Concrete hierarchy, scale and production guidance tailored to Tim Burton Serif’s stroke geometry.
A contrasted serif with small capitals gives a title page the look of a printed book, and the wide spacing keeps a long title calm at page size.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 135 by 205 mm title page: set the title at 34 pt over two lines, keep 26 mm of clear ground beneath before the author at 11 pt, and hold 20 mm of margin on all four sides.
Pre-production check
Hairline serifs can thin out on a rough paper; print one page on the intended stock and check the joins before the run.
A quiet contrasted serif reads as a book rather than a poster, which suits a story that is strange without ever raising its voice on the cover.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 135 by 205 mm cover: set the title at 44 pt over two lines, keep 20 mm of clear ground beneath before the author at 12 pt, and hold 14 mm of margin on all four sides.
Pre-production check
A dark cover with thin serifs loses contrast in print; proof one cover and check the fine strokes against the background.
A small-caps serif gives a narrow bottle a grown-up, printed air, and the fine serifs hold at label size where a decorative face would clot.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 45 by 80 mm label: set the name at 13 pt on one line, keep 5 mm of clear ground beneath before the strength at 4 pt, and hold 4 mm of margin on all four sides.
Pre-production check
At thirteen points the hairlines may grey out on uncoated stock; print one label and inspect the joins before the batch.
