Condensed brutalist sans with tall stems and flat terminals
Studio Voice is a condensed brutalist sans in which the stems run very tall, the terminals stay flat and the counters squeeze to narrow slots, so a two-word title reads as a gallery graphic rather than as a headline.

Sturdy stroke walls and open counters weed cleanly on adhesive vinyl, HTV apparel film, and cut cardstock.
Visual anatomy & craft review
The S holds a flat spine in a narrow frame, the t raises a short bar, the u keeps two tall stems, the d closes a slot and the o squeezes into a tall ring, all at an even monoline weight with flat terminals and a compressed proportion. The compression is the character: the face fits a long title into a narrow band, which is how the sample sets two words across a wide image without condensing them further. Because the counters stay open, the face reads at 24 pt and holds a wall at 200 pt, and it prints in one flat ink. The red interior, the lamps, the small technical labels and the faint grid are presentation; the cream condensed words are the face.

Concrete hierarchy, scale and production guidance tailored to Studio Voice’s stroke geometry.
The condensed stems fit a long architecture journal name on one line, and the flat terminals give a cover a technical calm at 84 pt.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print an A4 cover: set the title at 84 pt across the full width, keep 20 mm of margin at each side, and set the issue line in a 9 pt condensed caps 18 mm beneath.
Pre-production check
Condensed caps at full width leave no air; check the proof and keep at least 15 mm of margin rather than expanding the word.
The brutalist register suits a design studio identity, and the tall stems keep a two-word name readable at 20 pt on a card.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print an 85 by 55 mm card: set the studio name at 20 pt in two words on one line, set the address in a 6 pt condensed sans in the lower corner, and keep 10 mm of white under the name.
Pre-production check
A condensed two-word name set too tight reads as one word; check the card and add 1 percent tracking at the word space.
The tall condensed caps read from a corridor, and the even weight holds a long exhibition title at 60 mm on a wall graphic.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 900 by 300 mm wall graphic: set the title at 60 mm across the middle, set the dates in a 16 pt condensed caps beneath, and keep 40 mm of clearance so the block does not touch the hanging line.
Pre-production check
Vinyl letters on a painted wall show every ripple; check the wall surface and use a matte vinyl rather than a gloss.
