Elegant serif with ink traps
Sogea is an elegant serif in cream on a warm brown field: high contrast, fine hairlines, sharp serifs and small ink traps at the junctions, a tall waist and a wide x-height, set in two lines with a tracked caption beneath and a small ornament above.

Sturdy stroke walls and open counters weed cleanly on adhesive vinyl, HTV apparel film, and cut cardstock.
Visual anatomy & craft review
The two words are set in title case and the drawing is a modern serif: the stems are heavy, the hairlines are fine, and the junctions carry small traps that keep the letters open at the angles where ink would otherwise pool. Those traps are the reason the face works at text sizes as well as display, which the specimen shows by setting a second line slightly smaller. The serifs are sharp and the spacing is even, so the blocks read as a considered title rather than a headline. The ground is a flat warm brown, and the cream type sits on it with enough contrast for the hairlines to survive; the small ornament above and the tracked caption beneath are the only other elements.

An elegant serif with ink traps reads as considered rather than fashionable, and the traps keep a small wordmark open at the sizes a business card and a website header need.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Set the mark at 18 pt on a card, 80 mm on a wall and 11 pt in a footer. Keep one colour and reserve clear space equal to the cap height so the hairlines never crowd.
Pre-production check
Check the 11 pt footer on uncoated paper, where hairlines can fill; keep the size at or above 9 pt. Confirm the wall mark reads at six metres and that the mark holds reversed out of a dark ground.
A modern serif gives an annual a quiet authority, and the ink traps keep the title open at thumbnail size where a pure didone would clot.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Set the title at 90 mm cap height across 220 mm, the subtitle in a 12 pt serif, and the year at 9 pt. Print cream on a mid-tone ground and keep the ornament to a single rule.
Pre-production check
Check the title at thumbnail size, where the hairlines can thin out; keep the contrast above 6:1. Confirm the 9 pt year survives lamination and that the title clears the trim by 12 mm.
A modern serif reads as formal without the decoration of a script, and the ink traps keep the small print open on a textured card.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
A5 invitation: the names at 24 pt, the request in a 10 pt serif at 14 pt leading, and the date at 9 pt caps. Keep 22 mm margins and letterpress one ink on a heavy card.
Pre-production check
Check the 24 pt names on cotton, where hairline serifs can sink; proof the plate on the actual stock. Confirm the 10 pt request reads at arm's length and that the names keep a visible gap.
