Sturdy stroke walls and open counters weed cleanly on adhesive vinyl, HTV apparel film, and cut cardstock.
Visual anatomy & craft review
Sealgair is an ornamental Celtic and Norse display serif family: sturdy stems with woven knotwork filling the counters, angular shoulder ornaments and a second cut whose interlacing runs thinner for a smaller line. The family is a carved-inscription look, so it belongs on a sign, a plaque and a cover rather than a paragraph. The knotwork is the finest element and it fills into a solid plate when the face is reduced. It needs roughly 44 mm for the weave to read, and it is best one dark ink on a stone-toned ground or carved in relief.

A knotwork display serif reads as a carved badge rather than a modern logo, which suits a small brewery. The weave holds at 44 mm on a badge, and two flat inks print the badge and the crate label in one order.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Tap badge 80 mm round, word 20 mm with 10 mm knot clearance, 4 mm die margin. Crate label 120 x 90 mm, word 28 mm, 6 mm margins. Card 85 x 55 mm, word 18 mm, 5 mm margins.
Pre-production check
On an 80 mm tap badge at 20 mm the knotwork fills to a plate and the name reads as a disc. Raise the badge word to 30 mm, and test one badge before the order.
An ornamental serif gives a history or folklore title the look of a carved cover rather than a modern jacket. The weave holds at 72 pt on a cover, and the plain companion carries the chapter heads.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Cover 210 x 297 mm, title 72 pt with 16 mm knot clearance, 20 mm margins. Chapter opener 24 pt in the plain cut. Spine 20 x 297 mm, word 10 pt, 3 mm margins.
Pre-production check
On a 20 mm spine the weave closes to a solid line and the title is unreadable. Set the spine in the plain cut, and print one cover before the run.
A knotwork serif gives a handfasting or heritage wedding a carved, hand-cut look rather than a modern card. The weave holds at 34 pt on an invitation, and one ink prints the card and the service sheet in one pass.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Invitation 130 x 180 mm, names 34 pt with 14 mm knot clearance, details 9/13 pt, 18 mm margins. Service sheet 105 x 210 mm, head 20 pt, items 9/12 pt. Seal 40 mm round, initial 14 mm, 3 mm die margin.
Pre-production check
On a 40 mm seal the weave fills under wax and the initial prints as a dot. Use a plain initial on the seal, and pour one seal before the batch.
