Open rounded notebook print
School Notes is a simple hand-written print in dark grey on ruled notebook paper: tall open letters, thin even strokes and round counters, drawn large enough to fill the page.

Visual anatomy & craft review
School sits above Notes, and the lettering is the handwriting of a careful student rather than a display face: the stems are thin and even, the bowls of the o and the e are open circles, the c and the S are wide, the h and the l are tall and the t lifts its crossbar above the other lowercase. The letters are unjoined, the spacing is generous and the baseline sits on the ruling of the page, which is what makes the specimen read as a notebook. A small circular badge at the right states that the face is new, and two captions at the foot name the style and the designer. The face is a friendly print for school material, notes and labels: because the strokes are thin and the counters open, it stays readable at small sizes, which is where most handwritten faces fail.

A plain hand on ruling is what a school notebook already looks like, so the cover needs no design idea beyond the lettering.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print an A5 cover: set the subject at 54 pt across two rows, keep 16 mm of clear ground beneath before the name at 12 pt, and hold 14 mm of margin on all sides.
Pre-production check
Thin strokes on a coloured cover stock can lose contrast; print one cover on the actual paper and check the letters before the set.
A careful hand signals a feature about classrooms rather than about policy, and the open counters hold up at heading size on newsprint.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 230 by 300 mm opener: set the heading at 44 pt across two rows, keep 16 mm of clear ground beneath before the standfirst at 10.5 pt, and hold 18 mm of margin on both sides.
Pre-production check
Thin strokes on newsprint can fill slightly; print one opener on the actual stock and check the e before the issue.
A simple hand is legible to a child at a glance, and the open counters survive a small printed label taped to a plastic tray.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 60 by 25 mm label: set the subject at 12 pt on one row, keep 3 mm of clear ground around the word, and hold 3 mm from the tallest letter to the label edge.
Pre-production check
Ruled label stock fights the baseline; print one sheet on the actual stock and check the alignment before the run.
