Gentle rounded handwritten print
Something Refined is a gentle rounded handwritten print in charcoal on cream: tall ascenders, open round bowls and a slight forward tilt, calm enough to set a short paragraph.

Visual anatomy & craft review
Something sits above Refined in a light rounded hand, and the lettering is closer to careful everyday writing than to a display face: the stems are even, the bowls of the o and the e are open circles, the ascenders on the h and the l are tall and straight, and the baseline tilts a few degrees without bouncing. The letters are unjoined, the terminals are rounded, and the comma after Refined is drawn as a soft wedge. Three small words at the right — whimsical, beautiful, handmade — are set in the same hand at a smaller size, which is a useful test of how the face behaves below display size. The ground is cream with two captions above and below in a plain sans. The face is a friendly text-weight hand for stationery, packaging and short paragraphs: it is readable at small sizes, and it is one of the few handwritten faces that can carry a list.

A calm hand sets a quiet product voice, and the face holds a two-word product name plus a scent line without a second typeface.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 60 by 45 mm label: set the product at 13 pt on one row, keep 5 mm of clear ground beneath before the scent at 5 pt, and hold 4 mm from the lowest loop to the die line.
Pre-production check
Handwritten bowls close up on coated stock; print one label on the real paper and check the e before the order.
The hand is readable enough to set a standfirst, which is where most handwritten faces fail, and it keeps a craft page from looking typeset.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 230 by 300 mm opener: set the standfirst at 14 pt across four rows, keep 14 mm of clear ground beneath before the body at 10 pt, and hold 18 mm of margin on both sides.
Pre-production check
A handwritten standfirst over four lines can look like a note rather than copy; print one page and check it reads as text before the issue.
The face carries a list of directions and times without losing the hand-made tone, which means the detail card can stay in one voice.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 105 by 148 mm details card: set the heading at 20 pt, set the times at 9.5 pt with 12 mm of clear ground between, and hold 12 mm of margin on all sides.
Pre-production check
Small sizes under ten points thin the strokes; print one card at the finished size and check the numerals before the suite.
