Informal tall hand with soft shadow
Quarantine and Chill is an informal handwritten display in white on slate blue: tall narrow letters, uneven spacing and a soft shadow that lifts the strokes off the ground, with a second line in the same hand.

Visual anatomy & craft review
QUARANTINE AND CHILL runs on two lines, and the lettering is a casual hand rather than a designed face: the Q carries a long straight tail, the A is a narrow triangle with a high crossbar, the R has a short leg, and the letters wobble slightly in height and width. The spacing tightens and opens unpredictably, which is what gives the phrase its informal rhythm, and a soft shadow under every stroke separates the white from the slate blue. The third line, in mixed case and a smaller size, uses the same hand and shows how it behaves at caption size. The face is an informal display for posters, packaging and social graphics: it needs a large size, it works in one colour plus a shadow, and it is best kept to a short phrase.

Concrete hierarchy, scale and production guidance tailored to Quarantine and Chill’s stroke geometry.
An informal hand speaks to students in their own register, and a poster in one colour with a shadow prints cheaply on a club budget.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print an A3 poster: set the title at 100 pt across two rows, keep 26 mm of clear ground beneath before the meeting time at 18 pt, and hold 22 mm of border on all sides.
Pre-production check
A soft shadow turns to grey on a school printer; print one poster on the actual machine and check the edge before the run.
A casual hand reads as a small place rather than a chain, and a one-colour sticker is the simplest merchandise a cafe can buy.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 90 mm round sticker: set the phrase at 20 pt across two rows, keep 6 mm of clear ground between the letters and the rim, and leave 8 mm beneath for the street at 5.5 pt.
Pre-production check
The shadow needs room on a small die; print one sticker at the real size and check the outer letters before the roll.
An informal hand sets a student feature apart from the rest of the paper, and it reads at opener size where a light script would not.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 230 by 300 mm opener: set the heading at 70 pt across two rows, keep 22 mm of clear ground beneath before the standfirst at 10.5 pt, and hold 20 mm of margin on both sides.
Pre-production check
Uneven spacing can read as a typo in a printed page; print one opener and check the rhythm is intentional before the issue.
