Faceted blackletter display
Ravenkroft is a faceted blackletter in bone on a dark stone ground: tall capitals with deep R and f descenders, sharp angular spurs, a stone texture on the fill and a slight forward lean, with a small line above and a plain line beneath that name the style.

Sturdy stroke walls and open counters weed cleanly on adhesive vinyl, HTV apparel film, and cut cardstock.
Visual anatomy & craft review
The plate is staged in a crypt, and the type holds against the stone because the stems are heavy and the fill carries the same texture. The drawing is a faceted blackletter: the strokes are angular and cut rather than written, and the descenders on the R and f drop well below the baseline, which gives the word a tall, uneven silhouette. That construction sets a moderate size floor, because the facets close first, and the lean means a layout should allow clearance at the right margin. The two small lines are product copy that name the style and the register. It suits a poster, a book cover and a themed sign, and it is a face for one or two words rather than a heading in a document.

A faceted blackletter reads as carved stone, and the heavy fill holds against a dark textured ground where a fine gothic would vanish.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
A2 poster: the event at 100 mm cap height, the details in a 14 mm serif, and the venue at 11 mm. Keep 32 mm margins and print one colour on a dark stock with the type reversed out.
Pre-production check
Check the A2 at five metres, where a facet can vanish; keep it above 2.5 mm. Confirm the 11 mm venue reads at two metres and that the descenders clear the line beneath.
A faceted blackletter frames a dark fantasy, and the deep descenders give a short title an uneven silhouette that reads at thumbnail size.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Set the title at 85 mm cap height across 180 mm, the author in a 12 pt serif, and the imprint at 8 pt. Print two colours on a textured stock and keep 22 mm margins at the head.
Pre-production check
Check the title at 85 mm, where a facet can clot; keep the counters open. Confirm the 8 pt imprint survives lamination and that the descenders clear the trim by 12 mm.
A faceted blackletter gives a venue a sign with weight, and the angular strokes hold on a dark window in vinyl. It reads as carved signage.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Cut 900 by 320 mm vinyl: the name at 110 mm cap height, the line in a 20 mm serif, and a 4 mm contour. Keep 25 mm margins and apply to a clean pane at dusk.
Pre-production check
Check the cut at 110 mm, where a 4 mm facet can tear on weeding; widen it to 6 mm. Confirm the 20 mm line reads at two metres and that the descenders clear the frame.
