Pixel outline display with a stepped shadow
Pixel Jester is a pixel outline display in red and black on a watercolour splash: capitals drawn as a stepped outline with the paper showing through, each letter shadowed by a black pixel offset, with a solid line beneath in the same face.

Sturdy stroke walls and open counters weed cleanly on adhesive vinyl, HTV apparel film, and cut cardstock.
Visual anatomy & craft review
Two words are stacked and the face is built on a pixel grid: the letters are drawn as a red contour made of square steps, with no fill at all, so the background shows through the middle of every stroke, and a black copy of the same contour is offset down and right to give a hard shadow. Because the outline is one pixel wide and the steps are visible, the word reads as a sprite from an old arcade screen, and the open interior means the background has to be light enough for the red to register. A third line beneath is set in the same face but filled solid, which shows the two treatments side by side. The ground is a soft watercolour splash in pink and orange with scattered droplets and thin rings. Pixel Jester is a display face for game graphics, party goods, posters and social content with a retro-digital mood, and it needs capitals at a large size and a light, soft ground.

Concrete hierarchy, scale and production guidance tailored to Pixel Jester’s stroke geometry.
An open pixel outline reads as an arcade title, and the stepped shadow gives the flat shapes depth without a single gradient anywhere.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 105 by 148 mm card: set the greeting at 30 pt over two lines, keep 14 mm of clear ground beneath before the details at 9 pt, and hold 12 mm of margin on all four sides.
Pre-production check
A one-pixel outline can break when scaled off the grid; keep the size a whole multiple and print one card first.
A pixel face marks a computing club at a glance, and the open letters keep the poster light enough to read over a busy background.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print an A3 poster at 297 by 420 mm: set the title at 110 pt over two lines, keep 28 mm of clear ground beneath before the meeting time at 20 pt, and hold 22 mm of margin on all four sides.
Pre-production check
On a coloured noticeboard an open outline loses contrast; print one sheet and check it against the board behind.
A pixel outline titles a feature about old hardware, and the two treatments, outline and solid, let a cover carry a title and a label.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 210 by 297 mm cover: set the title at 90 pt over two lines, keep 24 mm of clear ground beneath before the coverlines at 10 pt, and hold 16 mm of margin on all four sides.
Pre-production check
An outline over a photograph needs a light area behind it; check the placement on the final image before printing.
