Visual anatomy & craft review
Nesslow is a tall condensed melting liquid-lava display: narrow stems that sag and pool at the baseline, droplets hanging off the bottoms of some letters and a smooth molten edge that reads as poured wax. The pools grow the word downward and need extra leading, and the droplets are the finest element. It needs roughly 32 mm for the droplet and the sag to read, and it is best in two flat inks on a matte ground, or one vinyl colour where the droplets become cut paths.

Concrete hierarchy, scale and production guidance tailored to Nesslow’s stroke geometry.
A melting display reads as a wax-sealed bill rather than a cartoon monster, which is what a themed night wants at the gate. The droplets hold at 120 mm on a poster, and two flat inks print the poster and the tickets in one order.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Poster A2, word 120 mm with 16 mm droplet clearance, details 40 mm, 20 mm margins. Ticket 100 x 50 mm, word 12 mm, 4 mm perforation. Door sign 250 x 350 mm, word 60 mm, 24 mm margins.
Pre-production check
A 100 x 50 mm ticket at 12 mm merges the droplets into the baseline and the word reads as a smear. Raise the ticket to 18 mm, and print one ticket before the batch.
A melting display turns a horror issue into a poured cover rather than a styled headline. The pools hold at 72 pt on a coated cover, and two flat inks keep the droplets from merging with the line below.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Cover 210 x 297 mm, title 72 pt with 14 mm droplet clearance, cover lines 10/14 pt over two columns of 82 mm, 18 mm margins and a 14 mm head. Opener 56 pt. Section head 26 pt.
Pre-production check
At 26 pt on the section head the pools fill and the head reads as a solid block. Keep the face at 44 pt and above with extra leading, and proof one spread at 1:1.
A molten display reads as poured wax rather than a printed logo, which is what a candle maker wants on a jar. The droplets hold at 26 mm on a label, and two flat inks print the label and the card in one order.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Jar label 70 x 45 mm, word 24 mm with 8 mm droplet clearance, 4 mm die margin. Card 85 x 55 mm, word 20 mm, 5 mm margins. Box print 150 x 100 mm, word 34 mm, 10 mm margins.
Pre-production check
A 70 x 45 mm jar label at 24 mm pushes a droplet into the die line and the blade clips it. Pull the word in 4 mm, and check one labelled jar before the batch.
