Dragonic thorny black-metal display with flame-like spikes and a winged arch
Mortal Reign is a black-metal display face in which the letters are built from flame-like spikes, the word arches upward at both ends and the thorns interlock between letters, so the mark reads as a winged sigil.

Fine grain and micro-texture excel in 300 DPI print, sublimation, and screen print rather than small vinyl weeding.
Visual anatomy & craft review
The M is drawn as a crown of spikes, the o closes a hollow with a flame on its shoulder, the r carries a hooked blade and the t loses its bar to the surrounding thorns, all at a heavy weight with every edge cut into a point. The arch is the composition: the outer letters rise higher than the middle, which is why the sample reads as a winged emblem rather than a line of type. Legibility is limited to named recognition at 60 pt and above. The black ground, the white ink, the small caps credit beneath are presentation; the display face is the word shown.

Concrete hierarchy, scale and production guidance tailored to Mortal Reign’s stroke geometry.
The arched spiked mass reads as an emblem at 90 pt, and the wing shape fills a square cover without a second graphic element.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 120 mm square sleeve: set the mark at 90 pt across the centre, set the title in a 9 pt caps sans at the foot, and keep 15 mm of margin so the raised outer points stay inside the square trim.
Pre-production check
An arched mark printed close to the top edge looks clipped; check the artwork at final size and reduce the arch rather than trimming it.
The dense spikes screen-print as one silhouette at 100 mm, and the arch fills a back panel where a flat logotype would leave gaps at the shoulders.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Screen a 330 mm back print: set the mark at 100 mm, keep the thinnest points at 1.5 mm, and stay 45 mm below the collar seam so the arch clears the yoke.
Pre-production check
A dense silhouette on fleece can bridge between spikes; check a pull on the actual garment and open the gaps rather than thickening the ink.
The winged shape reads at 30 mm on a small sticker, and the arch keeps it recognisable in a rack full of square designs.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 55 mm die-cut sticker: set the mark at 30 mm, keep 4 mm between the outer points and the die line, and check that the arch fits the sticker height without cropping.
Pre-production check
A die cut through a raised outer point leaves a curl; check the cut file and reduce the arch height by 2 mm before ordering.
