Open serif with softly irregular edges and flaring diagonals
Kernova Serif is a modern serif in which the bowls stay open, the contrast sits at a middle range and the edges of the stems and feet carry a soft irregularity, so a line reads as a quietly weathered classic rather than a crisp didone.

Sturdy stroke walls and open counters weed cleanly on adhesive vinyl, HTV apparel film, and cut cardstock.
Visual anatomy & craft review
The K flares its diagonals outward, the o closes a broad round bowl, the serifs finish short with slightly uneven edges and the stems keep a moderate contrast without hairlines that vanish. The mild irregularity is the character: it softens a modern serif without turning it into a distressed face, which is why the sample sets one title over a dark platform scene. Because the edges are soft rather than eroded, the face holds from 16 pt and works on uncoated stock where a fine didone would fail. The station sign, the tracks and the small caption are presentation; the pale serif title is the face.

The open bowls read on a photographic cover, and the moderate contrast holds a two-word title at 58 pt on an uncoated sheet.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print an A5 cover: set the title at 58 pt on the calm band of the photograph, keep 18 mm of clear ground beneath for the standfirst, and set the standfirst at 10 pt in the same cut.
Pre-production check
An uncoated sheet spreads ink into the soft edges; check the proof and keep the title at 50 pt or above on that stock.
The organic edges give a wordmark texture without a filter, and the open bowls hold a two-word name at 24 pt on a kraft label.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 70 by 50 mm label: set the roastery name at 24 pt, set the origin at 8 pt in a caps beneath, and keep 6 mm from the die so the flaring K stays whole.
Pre-production check
A flaring diagonal printed to the die edge looks cut; check the imposed label and keep 5 mm of margin.
The warm irregularity suits a seasonal suite, and the open forms keep a pair of names clear at 26 pt on a heavy textured card.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 130 by 180 mm card: set the names at 26 pt, set the date at 10 pt in a caps beneath, and keep 18 mm of margin so the soft edges do not crowd the trim.
Pre-production check
Textured card breaks up small serifs; check the proof and keep the names at 24 pt or above.
