Spare geometric blackletter
Metal Gothic is a spare blackletter in black on a pale textured paper: narrow angular counters, straight shoulders, diamond-shaped terminals and tight fitting, set in two stacked words with a fine rule and a plain credit line beneath.

Sturdy stroke walls and open counters weed cleanly on adhesive vinyl, HTV apparel film, and cut cardstock.
Visual anatomy & craft review
The plate is austere on purpose: two words, a rule and a credit, with nothing else to look at, which is the right way to present a face whose quality is in the drawing. The letters are a geometric blackletter with narrow angular counters and diamond terminals, so the word reads as a cut inscription rather than as writing, and the tight fitting means a long title occupies less width than a calligraphic gothic would need. That construction sets a moderate size floor, because the counters close first. The rule and the credit are staging and product copy. It suits a cover, a label and a brand for a dark or a metal subject, and the spare drawing makes it one of the few gothic faces that works at a moderate size without ornament.

Concrete hierarchy, scale and production guidance tailored to Metal Gothic’s stroke geometry.
A spare blackletter carries a cover, and the narrow counters let a long title fit a portrait format on one line. It holds a long title.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Set the title at 85 mm cap height across 180 mm, the author in an 11 pt sans, and the imprint at 8 pt. Print two colours on a textured stock, keeping 22 mm margins and 0.3 mm as the finest stroke.
Pre-production check
Check the title at 85 mm, where a counter can clot; keep the counters open. Confirm the 8 pt imprint survives lamination and that the terminals clear the trim.
A geometric blackletter reads as a band rather than a brand, and the spare strokes hold on a small sticker where a detailed gothic would fill in.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 55 by 55 mm sticker: the band at 12 pt, the release at 7 pt, and one ink on a matte vinyl. Keep 4 mm inside the die and keep the strokes above 0.35 mm.
Pre-production check
Check the 12 pt band on a sticker, where a counter can fill; keep it above 0.35 mm. Confirm the 7 pt release reads in hand and that the sticker peels cleanly.
A blackletter poster reads as a dark bill, and the flat strokes hold in one ink on a cheap stock at a large size. It reads as a dark bill.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
A2 poster: the event at 110 mm cap height, the line-up in an 18 mm sans, and the venue at 11 mm. Keep 28 mm margins, print one colour on a light stock and keep the strokes above 3 mm.
Pre-production check
Check the A2 at five metres, where a counter can vanish; keep the strokes above 3 mm. Confirm the 11 mm venue reads at two metres and that the line-up fits the measure.
