Playful multicolour caps with picture substitutions for letters
Groovy Halloween is a playful capital alphabet in which rounded letters sit in a bouncing row and several characters are replaced by drawn pumpkins, ghosts and skulls, so a two-word greeting reads as a decorated banner.

Sturdy stroke walls and open counters weed cleanly on adhesive vinyl, HTV apparel film, and cut cardstock.
Visual anatomy & craft review
The G curls a fat spur, the R turns a rounded leg, the o stays a wide ring, the v splays two fat arms, while the substituted characters draw a pumpkin, a ghost and a skull at the same weight and rhythm. The substitutions are the character: the drawn objects sit inside the word as letters, which is why the sample sets two rows in mixed colours with bats and stars around them. Because each character is a solid shape, the face reads from 30 pt and cuts cleanly in card, and it prints in as many colours as the palette allows. The navy ground, the clouds, the bats, the stars and the small caption are presentation; the coloured words are the face.

Concrete hierarchy, scale and production guidance tailored to Groovy Halloween’s stroke geometry.
The drawn pumpkins and ghosts carry the whole theme without extra artwork, and the fat letters read across a room at 70 mm.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print an A3 banner: set the word at 70 mm, keep 20 mm between the two rows, and cut around the drawn characters so the ghost stays whole on the second row.
Pre-production check
Cutting through a drawn ghost separates it from the row; check the banner and keep each substituted character joined to its neighbour by 5 mm.
The solid characters cut cleanly in card, and the picture letters give the topper decoration instead of a separate motif at 45 mm.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Cut a 180 mm topper: set the word at 45 mm, keep every stroke at 6 mm, and add a 20 mm stem under a solid letter rather than under a ghost so the support is hidden.
Pre-production check
A stem glued behind a silhouette character shows through; check the topper and place the support behind the widest solid stroke.
The picture letters suit a seasonal classroom sign, and the open counters keep the word readable at 40 mm from a corridor.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print an A4 sign: set the word at 40 mm, set the class name in a 14 pt rounded sans beneath, and keep 15 mm of margin so the drawn characters are inside the door plate.
Pre-production check
A door plate crops the corners of a sign; check the plate opening and keep every character inside 90 percent of the sheet.
