Visual anatomy & craft review
The capital B is drawn with a small curl at the top of the stem before the bowls begin, and other capitals repeat that habit with a curled entry, which is what gives the phrase its friendly handmade tone. The lowercase letters are open and round: the a keeps a single-storey bowl, the m holds two even arches, the b and the o close fully and the n stays wide. Weight is a consistent medium with fully rounded ends, nothing connects, and the spurs are simple, so a word reads as a sign written on paper rather than a script. Counters are open and the fit is loose, which keeps a long word readable at 18 pt. The forest photograph, the white lettering and the small corner credits are presentation; the lettering is the two words.

Concrete hierarchy, scale and production guidance tailored to Bamboo’s stroke geometry.
The round friendly letters read at counter distance and the curled capitals give a menu a handmade tone, which suits a small café more than a crisp serif.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Set the sections in the caps at 40 mm on a 1.2 m board, keep the items in a plain 20 mm sans, and hold 30 mm between the section header and the first item.
Pre-production check
Chalk and liquid marker both blur rounded ends; check the board in place and re-write the headers rather than thickening the letters.
The level baseline keeps a sign tidy while the curls keep it warm, which fits a reception where nothing is meant to look formal.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Set the greeting at 12 cm on a 600 by 400 mm board, set both names in the same face at 7 cm beneath, and leave 10 cm of margin so the curls stay inside the frame.
Pre-production check
Outdoor boards are read from an angle; check the sign from three metres and widen the counters of the a and e if they close at distance.
The friendly round hand suits styled shelf labels and stays legible at the small size a jar label allows, which matters in a photographed set.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Set the contents at 11 pt on a 40 by 25 mm jar label, keep the date in a 6 pt sans beneath it, and leave 3 mm of margin so the rounded ends stay inside the cut.
Pre-production check
Labels photographed under soft light can lose contrast; check the set through the camera and darken the ink rather than enlarging the type.
