Visual anatomy & craft review
Embroidery is a smooth rounded monoline marker cursive: an even medium stroke with fully rounded ends, joined letters, a light slant and almost no thick-thin contrast, drawn so the line reads like a single running stitch. The monoline is what makes it survive machine embroidery, where a contrast stroke merges into a solid block. It needs roughly 26 mm for the rounded join and the monoline to read, and it is best as a single thread colour on a light ground, or one ink print on smooth stock.

A rounded monoline cursive holds its shape under machine embroidery where a contrast script merges into a block. The monoline holds at 22 mm on a cap, and one thread colour covers the cap and the chest print in one order.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Cap mark 60 mm wide, word 20 mm with 5 mm join clearance, 5 mm margin. Chest print 200 x 80 mm, word 30 mm, 10 mm margins. Woven label 50 x 25 mm, word 10 mm, 2 mm margin.
Pre-production check
A 50 x 25 mm woven label at 10 mm closes the joins and the word stitches as a solid bar. Use the label for a monogram at 14 mm, and check one sample before the run.
A monoline cursive reads as a written note rather than a printed acknowledgement. The joins hold at 22 mm on a card, and one ink prints the card, the tag and the stamp in one pass.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Card A6, word 22 mm with 6 mm join clearance, note 8/11 pt, 12 mm margins. Tag 50 x 90 mm, word 20 mm, 5 mm hole with 8 mm clear. Box stamp 100 x 60 mm, word 26 mm, 6 mm margins.
Pre-production check
A 100 x 60 mm stamp at 26 mm fills the joins into a solid stroke and the word reads as a ribbon. Keep stamps at 20 mm with 2 mm joins, and test one impression before the order.
A monoline cursive survives embroidery and vinyl, which is what a school kit actually needs. The joins hold at 30 mm on a banner, and one ink prints the banner and the certificates in one pass.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Banner 1500 x 400 mm, word 150 mm with 12 mm join clearance, 30 mm safe edge. Kit mark 90 x 60 mm, word 26 mm, 4 mm edge margin. Certificate A5 landscape, word 30 mm, 12 mm margins.
Pre-production check
An embroidered kit mark at 26 mm merges the monoline into a solid bar under 1 mm thread. Keep kit marks at 34 mm or above, and approve one sample before the order.
