Wide collegiate capitals with thin inset borders and square slabs
College is a wide collegiate capital alphabet in which every letter carries a thin inset border and square slabs, drawn so a single word reads as a team patch.

Sturdy stroke walls and open counters weed cleanly on adhesive vinyl, HTV apparel film, and cut cardstock.
Visual anatomy & craft review
The letters are broad rather than tall: the C opens to a square bracket, the O closes a rectangular counter, the L keeps one heavy arm and the E holds three even bars, all with square unbracketed slabs and a hairline border inset just inside the outer edge. That inset is what lets a designer fill the body in one colour and trace the border in another without redrawing, which is how most team lettering is produced. Weight is heavy and uniform, the counters are narrow and the fit is tight enough that a six-letter word holds a single line at 80 pt. The white ground, the navy ink, the small format badges and the two caption lines are presentation; the typeface is the word.

The inset border lets a team patch carry two colours from one artwork, and the wide construction reads from the far side of a gym at 90 mm.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Set the team name at 90 mm on a 160 mm patch, fill the body in the team colour and the border in white, and leave 8 mm from the stitched edge so the border is not caught.
Pre-production check
A thin inset border under 2 mm fills in when embroidered; check a stitch-out on the actual fabric and widen the border before the run.
The wide blocks read across a hall, and the inset border gives a painted panel depth without a second colour plate at 25 cm letters.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Set the school name at 25 cm on a 3 m panel, keep the room labels in a plain sans at 6 cm beneath, and hold 20 cm of margin so the wide letters are not cut.
Pre-production check
Painted inset borders need a steady mask; check one letter on the wall before the rest and widen the border if the line wobbles.
The patch construction suits a woven or printed label, and the inset border gives a small mark structure at 12 pt without a second element.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Set the brand at 12 pt on a 50 by 30 mm woven label, keep the est. line in a 5 pt sans beneath it, and leave 4 mm of margin so the border stays inside the cut.
Pre-production check
Woven labels turn an inset border into a dotted line; check a woven sample and simplify the border rather than the letterforms.
