Clean condensed collegiate slab with heavy slabs and tight fit
Apex Varsity is a clean condensed collegiate slab in which the letters run narrow and tall, the slabs are square and heavy and the fit stays tight, so a long team name holds a single line at a modest size.

Sturdy stroke walls and open counters weed cleanly on adhesive vinyl, HTV apparel film, and cut cardstock.
Visual anatomy & craft review
The A carries a low crossbar and flat feet, the P holds a squared bowl, the E keeps three arms of equal length and the X closes two flat junctions, all at a heavy even weight with unbracketed slabs and no distress at all. That cleanness is the point: without texture the face cuts, welds and stitches predictably, which is what a production shop needs. The condensed width is what lets eight letters run across a 200 mm space at 50 mm cap height, and the tight fit keeps the block solid. Counters are narrow but open at 30 mm. The pale ground, the black ink, the faint gym photograph and the two caption lines are presentation; the typeface is the two words.

The clean condensed slabs let a long team name fit a single line on a jersey, and the absence of texture keeps the screen print predictable at 55 mm.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Screen a 300 mm front print: set the team name at 55 mm on one line, keep 4 mm between letters so the slabs stay distinct, and stay 45 mm below the collar so the print clears the shoulder seam allowance.
Pre-production check
A tight fit and heavy slabs can merge at 55 mm on a coarse mesh; check a pull on the actual shirt and open the fit rather than reducing the weight.
The condensed blocks fit a long hall name across a narrow panel, and the clean edges read from the far end of the court at 18 cm.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 1.5 by 0.5 m panel: set the hall name at 18 cm across the centre, set the room numbers in a 5 cm caps slab beneath, and keep 10 cm of clear panel at each end so the fixing screws miss the letters.
Pre-production check
Fixing screws through a slab letter look like damage; check the fixing plan against the artwork before the panel is drilled.
The clean slabs read at 10 pt on a hang tag, and the condensed width keeps a long brand line on one row instead of wrapping.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 45 by 65 mm hang tag: set the brand at 10 pt, set the size in a 5 pt caps sans beneath, and keep 5 mm of margin so the slabs are not clipped by the die and the punched hole stays clear.
Pre-production check
A tight slab fit at 10 pt closes on card; check the printed tag and open the tracking slightly rather than dropping the line.
