Visual anatomy & craft review
Champions Stencil is a four-style athletic stencil sans with sharp diagonal intersecting cuts, flat-sided caps and heavy uniform weight, so a word reads as tactical kit lettering rather than a normal sports slab. The four styles let a designer build a layered mark with a solid base and a cut overlay, and the diagonal cuts need size to avoid closing. It needs roughly 30 mm for the cuts to read, and it is best in championship gold on a dark ground or in one flat ink on a pale one.

Concrete hierarchy, scale and production guidance tailored to Champions Stencil’s stroke geometry.
Diagonal stencil cuts read as tactical equipment, which is what a fitness brand prints on a box and a shirt. The layered styles build a solid base with a cut overlay at 60 mm, and the flat fill survives one colour on a dark garment.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Kit print 280 x 160 mm, word 60 mm, 40 mm margins. Carton 200 x 150 x 80 mm, word 44 mm on the lid, 25 mm margins. Sign 900 x 400 mm, word 160 mm, 60 mm margins.
Pre-production check
A plastisol print at 60 mm bridges the 1 mm diagonal cut and the stencil detail disappears. Keep cuts at 2 mm on garment artwork, and approve a strike-off before the run.
Tactical stencil caps read as a fight bill, which is what a combat-sports annual prints. The heavy pillars hold at 120 pt, and the cuts give the cover its aggression without a photograph of a face.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Cover 210 x 297 mm, title 120 pt, cover lines 9/12 pt, 18 mm margins and 10 mm trim. Spread 420 x 297 mm, headline 130 mm, body 9/13 pt. Panel 600 x 300 mm, quote 100 mm, source 18 pt.
Pre-production check
At 120 pt the diagonal cuts need 2 mm bridges, and uncoated stock gaining ink closes them into a solid block. Print coated or keep the title at 100 pt, and check one cover before the run.
Stencil athletics reads as a summer league identity, which is what a park competition orders. The heavy weight holds at 380 mm in vinyl, and the cut styles let a club add a second layer to a banner without a new design.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Kit print 300 x 100 mm, surname 70 mm, number 130 mm. Banner 2400 x 800 mm, word 380 mm, 150 mm margins with eyelets every 500 mm. Plate 140 x 40 mm, word 10 mm with 3 mm engraving margin.
Pre-production check
An engraved plate cuts a 1 mm diagonal into two grooves that fill with polishing compound and read as one thick stroke. Engrave the solid style for plates, and inspect one before the awards.
