Fine angular serif
Moirva is a fine angular modern serif in white on a dark carved cornice: tall caps with sharp flat serifs, a broad O and an R whose leg curves out of the bowl, set as one word inside a dark letterbox band with a short line above and a subtitle beneath.

Crisp hairline serifs shine on stationery, foil stamping, and packaging; add slight offset for small decals.
Visual anatomy & craft review
The word is set inside a wide horizontal band rather than across the whole sheet, which frames it the way a magazine crops a title, and the drawing is an angular serif: the serifs are sharp and flat, the O is broad, and the R leg leaves the bowl as a curve rather than a straight diagonal. That kind of detail is a display decision, so the face belongs at large sizes where the joins read as shapes, and the plate gives it a dark architectural ground that tests the contrast honestly. The line above and the subtitle beneath are set in the same family at a fraction of the size, which shows the face at three sizes on one sheet. Because the contrast is high, the hairlines need a smooth stock, and the band keeps the composition controlled.

Concrete hierarchy, scale and production guidance tailored to Moirva’s stroke geometry.
A fine angular serif gives an architecture cover a drawn precision, which matches a subject where the drawing is the argument rather than the decoration.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Set the title at 95 mm cap height across 200 mm, the subtitle in an 11 pt serif, and the author at 8.5 pt. Print one ink on a coated stock and crop the title inside a dark band.
Pre-production check
Check the title at 95 mm, where the sharp serifs can break at the joins; keep them above 0.3 mm. Confirm the 8.5 pt author survives lamination and that the band clears the trim.
An angular serif gives a studio a mark that reads as drawn rather than default, and the broad O holds on a wall panel in vinyl.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Set the mark at 19 pt on a card, 90 mm on a wall and 12 pt in a footer, keeping the wide cut only above 20 pt. Keep one colour and hold clear space equal to the cap height.
Pre-production check
Check the 12 pt footer, where a hairline can fill on uncoated paper; keep the size above 13 pt. Confirm the wall mark reads at eight metres and that the R leg survives cutting.
A fine serif gives an evening invitation restraint, and the angular serifs read as deliberate on a plain card with foil.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
A5 invitation: the names at 26 pt, the request in a 9.5 pt serif, and the date at 8.5 pt caps. Keep 24 mm margins and foil one colour on a deep card so the hairlines hold.
Pre-production check
Check the 26 pt names in foil, where a hairline can break; keep it above 0.3 mm. Confirm the 9.5 pt request reads at arm's length and that the names clear the trim by 10 mm.
