of Bubbly Comic.

Bubbly Comic is a hand-drawn rounded marker display with inflated stems, a small highlight dash on the upper left of each stroke and a loose, slightly tilted baseline. The shine accents are white gaps in the stroke, so they disappear as the type shrinks and read as dirt when reversed. It needs roughly 30 mm for the highlight dash to read, and it is best in one bright colour on white with the shine knocked out, or flat black on a light stock.

Pre-production check

A 120 mm topper cut through the highlight dash leaves a 1 mm island that falls out in the laser. Cut toppers from the silhouette without the shine, and test one topper on a stick before the set.

Pre-production check

A rounded bubbly marker is the lettering an ice-cream van already paints on its side, so the livery and the menu board look native to the trade. The inflated stems hold at 200 mm from across a car park, and one colour plus the knocked-out shine prints the sleeve without a second pass.
