Ultra-condensed metal lettering with mirrored hooks and a long centre point
Brother is a black metal display face: mirrored letterforms fused by blade spikes that rise above the line, with long flourishes sweeping out to both sides of the word.

Visual anatomy & craft review
The word sits at the centre of a dark red field as a single symmetric emblem, and the letters are joined by tall spikes that extend above the cap height into three points, with the counters closed to slits. Two long horns of ornament curve out from the sides of the word and meet at the top in a crown of small points, and a single blade drops straight down from the middle to the foot of the card. Small captions sit in the four corners in a plain grotesque, naming the presenter, the style and the foundry, and they are deliberately quiet. The construction is as much a logo as a typeface: the silhouette is the message, and the letters only resolve into a word on the second look. It belongs on band art, merch and posters, and it needs a dark ground, a large size and a generous margin.

Concrete hierarchy, scale and production guidance tailored to Brother Font’s stroke geometry.
The emblem reads as a band mark from across a room, and the mirrored blades give a dark poster a centrepiece without a photograph.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print an A2 poster: set the emblem at 320 mm wide across the upper half, keep 40 mm of clear ground beneath before the line-up at 12 pt, and hold 30 mm of margin from the outer flourishes to the trim.
Pre-production check
Long flourishes are thin at the ends; print one poster at the final size and check the tips before the run.
The lettering is the subject of the book, so the cover can carry it alone and let a small caption block explain the title underneath.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 210 by 280 mm cover: set the emblem at 170 mm wide at the top, keep 30 mm of clear ground beneath before the title block at 13 pt, and hold 24 mm from the lowest blade to the bottom trim.
Pre-production check
Matte lamination dulls the fine points; print one cover with the finish and compare it with the proof before the run.
The mark holds as a one-colour screen print on fabric, and a symmetric emblem is recognisable even when the wearer's label is unknown to the viewer.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 280 by 380 mm chest print: set the emblem at 260 mm wide, keep 36 mm of clear ground beneath before the catalogue number at 9 pt, and hold 28 mm from the flourishes to the print edge.
Pre-production check
Fine points fill on a coarse mesh; print one pull on the actual shirt and check the blade ends before the run.
