The upper cut builds A and B from straight facets with pointed lower ends and a hairline running inside each stem, while the lower cut opens wide C-shaped curves and sets slab-like feet under every letter. The proportion jump is the character: one tall narrow row over one short broad row, which is why the sample wraps both in wings and gears. Because the inset line is thin, the upper cut needs 40 pt before the line survives print and it cuts cleanly from three quarters of an inch of cap height in vinyl. The wings, the gear rings and the framing rules are presentation; the two lettered rows are the duo.
