Visual anatomy & craft review
Aurelian is a monoline cursive tracing script drawn entirely from evenly spaced round dots along smooth connected pen paths, so a line reads as a dotted guide rather than as solid handwriting. The dots must stay separated to read as dots, which means the face needs size and a print resolution that does not merge them, and the connected paths keep it cursive. It needs roughly 20 mm for the dots to separate, and it is best in one dark ink on warm ivory or kraft.

A dotted tracing script is literally a teaching tool, which is what an early-years worksheet needs. The dots mark the pen path, and the connected forms match the cursive children are taught, so the sheet supports the lesson instead of decorating it.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Worksheet A4, model line 14 mm, tracing rows 12 mm apart, instructions 10/14 pt, 20 mm margins. Card 105 x 148 mm, name 12 mm, 8 mm margins. Label 60 x 40 mm, name 8 mm, 3 mm margins.
Pre-production check
A school copier at 300 dpi merges the 1 mm dots into a solid line and the tracing guide disappears. Print worksheets at 600 dpi from vector art, and check one copy on the classroom machine.
A dotted monoline reads as a drafted guide rather than a finished signature, which is what an atelier prints on an insert. The dots give a short brand name a technical delicacy, and one ink on warm stock keeps the set quiet.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Label 60 x 40 mm, name 9 mm, 3 mm die margin. Insert 105 x 148 mm, heading 18 mm, notes 7/10 pt, 12 mm margins. Card 85 x 55 mm, name 9 mm, 5 mm margins.
Pre-production check
A 9 mm dotted label closes the dots into a solid stroke in flexo and the name reads as a plain script. Print digitally or keep the dots at 1.2 mm with 1.5 mm spacing, and check one applied label.
Dotted cursive reads as a written invitation on laid paper, which is what a spring garden lunch is. The dots stay airy on cream stock, and the connected path keeps a long host name legible at 10 mm.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Invitation 120 x 180 mm, names 24 mm, details 9/13 pt, 15 mm margins. Seed label 60 x 90 mm, name 12 mm, notes 6/9 pt, 4 mm die margin. Table card 90 x 50 mm, name 9 mm.
Pre-production check
Laid card shows its ribbing between the dots and the name reads as a broken line at 12 mm. Print on smooth cream stock or raise the seed label to 16 mm, and check one folded packet before the batch.
