Visual anatomy & craft review
Within Romance is a uniform monoline cursive with wide rounded capitals, even gel-pen strokes and an optional solid-heart accent that can be placed as a separate glyph. Because the stroke never varies, the face plots cleanly, transfers predictably and prints at 12 mm without thinning, while the wide capitals give a short name a generous opening. It reads as handwriting done with a good pen rather than calligraphy, and it is at its best on cards, tags and small signage where the words are few.

A monoline signature with a heart glyph reads as a note written to one person, which is what a valentine is for. Even weight transfers on a curved tumbler where a shaded script would break.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Card 105 x 148 mm, greeting 16 mm, message 7/10 pt, 12 mm margins. Tag 45 x 80 mm, word 9 mm, hole 5 mm clear. Tumbler wrap 200 x 90 mm, word 15 mm, 8 mm from the rim.
Pre-production check
A monoline under 0.4 mm disappears on a ceramic transfer after firing. Ask for the minimum fired line, keep the word at 15 mm or above, and check one fired tumbler before the pair.
Uniform cursive reads as a personal sign-off rather than a printed courtesy, and the flat weight holds at 9 mm on a small tag. The heart accent gives a short message a focal point without decoration.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Card 105 x 148 mm, greeting 14 mm, message 7/10 pt, 12 mm margins. Tag 50 x 90 mm, name 9 mm, hole 5 mm clear. Pin card 75 x 100 mm, word 12 mm, 8 mm margins.
Pre-production check
Pin cards are printed on 350 gsm and punched for a badge back, and a word close to the punch cracks. Keep 8 mm of clear card around the fixing, and test one assembled pin before the batch.
A monoline script stays legible at 9 mm, which is the size a place card actually is, while still reading as handwriting. Wide capitals let a long first name breathe.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Place card 90 x 50 mm, name 9 mm on a 5 mm baseline, table number 4 mm opposite, 3 mm trim. Favour tag 50 x 90 mm, name 8 mm, hole 5 mm clear. Sign 400 x 600 mm, names 70 mm, 40 mm margins.
Pre-production check
Place cards are printed on textured card and a 0.35 mm monoline fills. Print one proof on the intended card, and if the line breaks, set names in a companion serif and keep the script on the welcome sign.
