The Babe is a smooth monoline cursive script in which the connectors swell into solid heart shapes: an even thin stroke, a gentle rightward slant and a heart that sits on the baseline between certain letter pairs. The hearts are drawn into the joins rather than added as an ornament, so a word reads as a chain of hearts, and the monoline keeps the face honest at small sizes. It needs roughly 22 mm for the heart connector to read, and it is best in one warm ink on ivory, or a foil impression above 34 pt where the monoline stays thin.
