Sturdy stroke walls and open counters weed cleanly on adhesive vinyl, HTV apparel film, and cut cardstock.
Visual anatomy & craft review
Vintage Dreams is a chubby nineteen-seventies Cooper-inspired serif with groovy swashes: fat rounded serifs, a soft bulbous weight and curled swashes that roll off the caps and the descenders, with a warm irregular baseline. The swashes widen the word considerably and the bulbs close the counters early. It needs roughly 30 mm for the bulb and the swash to read, and it is best in two warm inks on cream, or one burnt orange on white where the swash reads as a drawn line.

A groovy swash serif reads as a printed record sleeve rather than a modern logo, which is what a vinyl shop wants on a bag. The swashes hold at 30 mm on a sleeve, and two warm inks print the sleeve and the cards in one order.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Sleeve print 300 x 300 mm, word 70 mm with 12 mm swash clearance, 20 mm margins. Card 85 x 55 mm, word 14 mm, 5 mm margins. Bag print 200 x 250 mm, word 50 mm, 15 mm margins.
Pre-production check
On an 85 x 55 mm card the swash runs into the word beside it and the name reads as one ribbon. Keep the card word at 22 mm, and check one card before the run.
A chubby groovy serif announces a themed birthday through the lettering alone. The swashes hold at 40 mm on an invite, and two warm inks print the invite and the banner as one set.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Invite A6, word 40 mm with 10 mm swash clearance, details 8/11 pt, 12 mm margins. Topper 130 x 110 mm, word 44 mm with a 6 mm stick slot and 12 mm clear. Banner 1500 x 400 mm, word 150 mm, 30 mm safe edge.
Pre-production check
A 130 mm topper cut through a swash end leaves a 1 mm sliver that snaps on the stick. Cut toppers with a 2 mm bridge, and test one before the party.
A groovy serif turns a retrospective page into its own period cover. The bulbs hold at 72 pt on a coated cover, and two warm inks keep the swash crisp against a cream ground.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Cover 210 x 297 mm, title 72 pt with 12 mm swash clearance, cover lines 10/14 pt, 18 mm margins. Opener 56 pt. Pull quote 36 pt with 8 mm above and 8 mm below.
Pre-production check
At 36 pt on a pull quote the swash crosses the line below and the quote reads as one tangled block. Keep the face at 48 pt and above or drop the swash cut, and proof one spread at 1:1.
