Letterform structure
of Twinkle Cuties.

The two words are stacked and each letter is built as an object rather than a shape: the strokes carry stripes, small bows, santa hats and snow caps, and a drop shadow lifts the whole block off the snow behind it. The underlying skeleton is a heavy rounded sans, which is what keeps the decoration readable: the letters stay wide and simple so the ornament sits on top rather than replacing the form. Because every letter carries detail, the face needs a large size, and the specimen sets both words big on a illustrated winter scene with a cottage, a moon and a snowman. The banner beneath states the category in a tracked sans, so the plate keeps one decorated element rather than decorating the whole page.
