Letterform structure
of Tropical Magic.
The two words are stacked and the drawing is a retro serif at a heavy weight: the terminals are balls, the bowls are round, and the capitals open with a curl, which gives the face its seventies character without any ornament applied on top. The yellow over a warm photograph is a low-contrast pairing, and the face gets away with it because the stems are thick, which is the honest test the plate provides. The corner notes are tiny tracked caps and they name the alternate glyphs, the ligatures and the italic cut, which is the information a buyer checks before purchase.
