Pastel bubble display with shine

Strong Bubble

Strong Bubble is a pastel bubble display in mint, pink, peach and butter on white: fat rounded letters of uneven size, small white shine marks inside the strokes, a heavy outline and a bouncing baseline, so the pair reads as a hand-drawn sticker set rather than a typographic family.

Visual anatomy & craft review

Letterform structure
of Strong Bubble.

Two words are stacked and each letter is drawn as an inflated shape: the strokes bulge, the counters are small and round, and the terminal curls on the r and the y add motion, which keeps the block from looking like a row of balloons. The shine is a small white crescent inside each stroke, which gives the letters a glossy, sticker-like quality without a gradient, and the outline separates them from the white ground. The baseline bounces hard and the letter sizes vary, which is what makes the lockup feel drawn by hand. Small four-point stars sit in the gaps, and the two captions above and below are set in a rounded grotesque, so the page reads as a cute product sheet rather than a type specimen.

Practical applications

Project & layout
blueprints.

Concrete hierarchy, scale and production guidance tailored to Strong Bubble’s stroke geometry.

Birthday

Set for a pastel first birthday

A pastel bubble face ties a party set together across a cake topper, a banner and a favour tag, and the heavy shapes cut cleanly in card where a thin script would tear.

Hierarchy & layout recipe

Cut a 150 mm topper and a 700 mm banner: the name at 60 mm cap height on the topper and 120 mm on the banner, with a 4 mm minimum stroke and 6 mm gaps for the blade. Keep the palette to four pastels across both pieces.

Pre-production check

Check the cut file at 60 mm, where a 3 mm stroke tears in card; thicken the joins. Confirm the topper stands in a 200 mm cake and that the banner letters do not sag after a day on a string.

Birthday

Invitation for a sweet-shop party

A bubble display reads as candy without an illustration, and the round counters stay open on a small card where a thin novelty face would look cluttered.

Hierarchy & layout recipe

A6 card: the phrase at 30 pt with a 1.2 mm outline, the details in a 9 pt rounded sans, and three small stars. Keep 12 mm margins and print four pastel inks on a white card at home quality or better.

Pre-production check

Check the 30 pt phrase, where the shine marks can disappear at small size; keep them at least 1 mm. Confirm the 9 pt details keep a 4.5:1 contrast and that the outlines do not merge two neighbouring letters.

Brand & packaging

Sticker sheet for a children's brand

A bubble sticker sheet is a product in itself, and the heavy outlined shapes survive die cutting and repeated handling where a delicate face would not.

Hierarchy & layout recipe

Die-cut 50 mm stickers: the phrase at 14 pt with a 1.5 mm outline, the brand at 5 pt, and 2 mm clear to the die. Keep the shine marks large enough to survive the cut and test one sticker on a curved surface.

Pre-production check

Check the 14 pt phrase, where a shine mark can read as a hole; enlarge it for the die. Confirm the sticker lifts cleanly from its backing and that the outline clears the die on every letter.
