Fine script over playful heart-counter blocks
Second Grade Duo is a pair on white: a thin cursive script in pastel colours for the upper word and fat rounded capitals with heart counters for the lower, each with a soft white outline.

Visual anatomy & craft review
The pairing is the design: the script is a fine connected hand with tall loops and a light stroke, and the capitals are heavy rounded block letters in which the R and the D carry a heart cut into the counter, so a plain word becomes a decorative one without a drawn motif beside it. The script sits above with a slight arc, the capitals below are set tight, and both carry a pale outline that lifts them off the sheet. The contrast between a hairline hand and a fat block is what makes the pair work on a school poster or a card, where one word has to be read across a room and the other has to be read close. Four small stars sit between the lines, and two captions at the foot name the pair. The duo suits school material, children's products and party goods.

A fat heart-counter capital reads down a corridor while the script carries the teacher name close up, which is exactly the split a door sign needs.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 300 by 200 mm sign: set the room word at 64 pt in the capitals, set the name at 26 pt in the script with 16 mm of clear ground, and hold 16 mm of border on all four sides.
Pre-production check
A heart counter can close at sixty-four points and look like a smudge; print one sign at the final size and check the R and the D before the set.
A playful capital softens a formal thank-you, and the thin script lets twenty names fit on a card without shrinking the greeting.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print an A5 card: set the greeting at 30 pt in the capitals, set the names at 9.5 pt in the script with 12 mm of clear ground, and hold 14 mm of margin on all four sides.
Pre-production check
A fine script at nine points can break up; print one card on the intended stock and check the names before the batch.
A heavy capital with a heart counter is a logo for the day, and the script handles the date and the place beneath it on the same banner.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 900 by 400 mm banner: set the title at 150 pt in the capitals, set the date at 44 pt in the script with 30 mm of clear ground, and hold 26 mm of border on all four sides.
Pre-production check
Fabric banners stretch and the outline can split; print one section at the final size and check the edges before the order.
