Bouncy Christmas script

Snow White

Snow White is a Christmas script in black on a snowy white ground: a connected monoline hand with a pronounced bounce, tall loops on the S and the h, and a w in the first word that lifts above the cap line, framed by fir branches and baubles.

Visual anatomy & craft review

Letterform structure
of Snow White.

The two words are set on one line and the drawing is a cheerful monoline script: the strokes hold a single weight, the baseline rises and falls through the phrase, and the letters connect with visible loops, so the word reads as a hand-written greeting. The capital S opens with a full loop, the W and the h rise above the others, and the t keeps a short crossbar, which keeps the rhythm quick. Because the stroke is monoline and thin, the face works best at medium sizes and above, and the sample keeps it large on a white field with a soft shadow, so the whole page feels like a card. Fir branches and white baubles sit at the two upper corners, and the caption beneath is a tracked sans, which keeps the seasonal decoration outside the letterforms.

Practical applications

Project & layout
blueprints.

Concrete hierarchy, scale and production guidance tailored to Snow White’s stroke geometry.

Christmas

Card for a shop's seasonal mailing

A bouncy script reads as a written greeting rather than a promotional line, which is what a seasonal mailing from a small shop needs, and the monoline stroke prints reliably.

Hierarchy & layout recipe

A6 card: the phrase at 26 pt, the shop name in a 9 pt sans beneath, and a fir sprig in one corner. Keep 12 mm margins and print one ink on a warm white stock so the bounce reads as handwriting.

Pre-production check

Check the 26 pt phrase on the card, where the thin joins can break if the ink is light; proof one card. Confirm the 9 pt shop name reads at arm's length and that the bounce does not push the taller loops into the margin.

Winter

Label for a seasonal gift box

A connected script gives a gift box a hand-written tag feel, and the monoline weight keeps the label legible at the small size a box seal uses.

Hierarchy & layout recipe

Print a 45 mm round label: the phrase at 13 pt, the contents in a 7 pt sans, and a 1 mm rule under the script. Keep 3 mm of clear label inside the die so the descenders are never cut.

Pre-production check

Check the 13 pt phrase on the seal, where the loops can close; enlarge to 15 pt or simplify the script for the seal. Confirm the 7 pt contents read at arm's length and that the seal sits flat on the box.

Brand & packaging

Mark for a winter market stall

A bouncy script reads as a hand-painted sign at a winter market, and the monoline stroke carries across a board, a banner and a paper bag with the same drawing.

Hierarchy & layout recipe

Print a 700 by 400 mm board: the phrase at 90 mm cap height, the stall number in a 30 mm sans, and a hand-drawn rule beneath. Keep 30 mm between the script's descender and the rule and print one ink on a pale board.

Pre-production check

Check the board at three metres, where the bounce can make the phrase hard to parse; keep the letter joins distinct. Confirm the 30 mm stall number reads from five metres and that the rule clears the descenders.
