Inline college slab
Simple College is a college slab in cream with a fine inline on a dark green board: heavy caps with block serifs, a high waist and square counters, the inner line running parallel to every stroke, set on two lines with a curved label above and a tracked note beneath.

Sturdy stroke walls and open counters weed cleanly on adhesive vinyl, HTV apparel film, and cut cardstock.
Visual anatomy & craft review
The two words are stacked and the drawing is a college slab: the serifs are blocks, the strokes are heavy, and the waist is high, which keeps the letters looking like embroidered jersey lettering. The inline is drawn inside the stroke at a fixed distance, so the whole block reads as a stitched mark, and that consistency is the decision a buyer has to hold across a set. Because the letters are heavy, the face works at banner size and on apparel, and the specimen sets it large on a dark board so the cream reads as thread. The curved label above and the tracked note beneath are set in a light caps face, which keeps the display as the only heavy element on the plate.

Concrete hierarchy, scale and production guidance tailored to Simple College’s stroke geometry.
A college slab reads as stitched lettering, and the inline gives a banner the look of a real applique without a second colour or a fabrication step.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print 1,400 by 500 mm: the event at 170 mm cap height with a 5 mm inline, the year at 90 mm, and a 34 mm line between rules. Keep 30 mm margins and print two colours on a dark ground.
Pre-production check
Check the banner at eight metres, where the inline can vanish; keep it above 6 mm at that scale. Confirm the 34 mm line reads at four metres and that the rules clear the eyelets.
A college inline mark holds in embroidery and in vinyl, and the two-layer construction lets a club produce the same badge in one colour or two.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Set the mark at 60 mm on a pennant, 25 mm on a patch and 12 mm on a card, dropping the inline below 30 mm. Keep clear space equal to half the cap height on every side.
Pre-production check
Check the 25 mm patch, where the inline can close in stitch; use the solid cut at that size. Confirm the card mark reads at arm's length and that the flag mark reads at six metres.
A varsity inline face marks an occasion as a class year, and the stitched look suits a shirt a family will keep after the day.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 240 mm chest graphic: the class year at 70 mm, the name at 30 mm, and two inks on a light shirt. Keep the inline only above 50 mm and place the graphic 80 mm below the collar.
Pre-production check
Check the 30 mm name, where an inline can fill the counters; use the solid cut below 40 mm. Confirm the year reads at three metres and that the shirt survives a full wash cycle.
