Visual anatomy & craft review
Romantic Aura Duo pairs a nineteen-seventies swashed retro script with a rounded sans: the script runs a high-contrast stroke with wide swelling swashes that lift above and below the line, while the sans is a soft rounded block for details and lists. The pair is a period look, so it works best in two warm flat inks on a light ground rather than in photographic tints. The swash thins are the finest element and they break first. The script needs roughly 32 mm and the sans 20 mm for their detail to read.

A seventies swashed script with a soft rounded sans gives a valentine the look of a printed poster rather than a modern card. The swashes hold at 32 mm, and two warm inks print the card and the sleeve in one pass.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Card A6, script 32 pt with 12 mm swash clearance, sans 18 pt, note 8/11 pt, 14 mm margins. Seal label 38 mm round, word 8 mm, 3 mm die margin. Sleeve 160 x 80 mm, script 20 mm, 10 mm margins.
Pre-production check
A 38 mm seal at 8 mm loses the swash entirely under wax. Use an initial only on the seal, and pour one seal before the batch.
A swashed retro script sets a relaxed wedding with a printed poster feel rather than a formal engraved card. The script signs the names at 32 pt, and the rounded sans sets the details at 9 pt.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Invitation 130 x 180 mm, script 32 pt with 12 mm swash clearance, sans 9/13 pt, 18 mm margins. Menu 120 x 210 mm, script 20 pt, courses 9/12 pt. Favour tag 50 x 90 mm, script 16 mm, 3 mm hole clearance and 4 mm to the trim.
Pre-production check
At 16 mm on a favour tag the swash runs past the trim and gets cut. Keep the word inside a 6 mm margin, and punch one tag before the batch.
A seventies swashed script reads as a hand-pulled summer poster rather than a modern flyer. The swashes hold at 110 mm on a poster, and two flat inks print the poster and the banner in one order.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Poster A2, script 110 mm with 14 mm swash clearance, sans details 32 mm, 20 mm margins. Wristband 250 x 25 mm, sans 8 mm, 4 mm safe edge. Banner 1200 x 400 mm, script 150 mm, 25 mm safe edge.
Pre-production check
At 8 mm on a wristband the script closes into a solid band and the word reads as a smear. Keep the script off the band and use the sans only, and check one band before the print.
