Contrasting calligraphy with a large looped G
Gastonia Script leads with a large double-looped G that extends far above and below the lowercase body, a long crossbar arcs across the central t and the final stroke climbs into a separate loop on the right.

Visual anatomy & craft review
The downstrokes stay dark and thick, the joins thin to hairlines, the capital opens two loops and one crossbar reaches across the middle of the word. The oversized capital is the character: the word begins with a drawn shape that sets the height for everything after it, which is why the sample sets a single name. Because the capital travels up and down and the last stroke loops away, keep 22 mm above and 20 mm below from 28 pt. The extra characters are encoded, so any added flourish is a deliberate step.

The looped capital gives a suite its one flourish, and the fine joins keep a pair of names light at 28 pt on heavy card stock. The contrast also keeps a formal card from feeling thin.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 130 by 180 mm card: set the names at 28 pt, keep 20 mm above the capital loop and 18 mm below it, and set the venue at 9 pt in a light serif with 14 mm of clear ground.
Pre-production check
A hairline join printed at 22 pt on textured card breaks; check the proof and keep the names at 26 pt on coated stock.
The calligraphic heading sets an opening page, and the crossed t bar gives the line its movement at 44 pt on a printed spread. The crossing bar also gives a heading its forward motion.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 210 mm spread: set the heading at 44 pt across the upper third, keep 24 mm beneath the lower loop before the standfirst at 10 pt, and keep the block on the plain margin.
Pre-production check
A loop printed over an image edge loses its thin end; check the page and keep the heading on unprinted paper. Ask for a film at 100 percent.
The fine script suits a flower label, and the thick downstrokes keep a shop name clear at 20 pt on a 50 mm panel. The thick downstrokes also hold a small label at one ink.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 50 by 35 mm label: set the shop name at 20 pt, keep 8 mm beneath for the low loop, and set the street in a 6 pt caps at the foot with 4 mm of clear ground. Keep the street line short.
Pre-production check
A thin connector printed at 16 pt disappears; check the plate proof and keep the name at 18 pt or above. Ask for a plate proof of the label.
