Visual anatomy & craft review
Rimma is a geometric three-line inline Art Deco sans with a retrowave edge: wide squared letters built from three parallel hairlines, sharp mitred corners, an even width and a symmetry that reads as a neon sign drawn on a grid. The three lines are the design and they merge into one at small sizes. It needs roughly 34 mm for the three lines to read, and it is best in one neon colour on a dark ground, or one fine ink on a pale ground where the gaps between the lines stay open.

A three-line Deco sans turns a design issue into a neon-grid cover. The lines hold at 84 pt on a coated cover, and one neon colour keeps the gaps open against a dark ground.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Cover 210 x 297 mm, title 84 pt with 12 mm line clearance, cover lines 10/14 pt over two columns of 82 mm, 18 mm margins and a 12 mm head. Opener 56 pt. Folio mark 12 mm.
Pre-production check
At 12 mm on the folio mark the three lines merge into one and the mark reads as a smudge. Use a single line on the folio, and proof one spread at 1:1.
A neon-grid display announces an eighties party through the lettering alone. The lines hold at 44 mm on a topper, and one neon ink prints the invite and the wraps as one set.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Invite A6, word 44 mm with 10 mm line clearance, details 8/11 pt, 12 mm margins. Topper 130 x 110 mm, word 48 mm with a 6 mm stick slot and 12 mm clear. Cup wrap 200 x 90 mm, word 20 mm, 12 mm from the rim.
Pre-production check
A cup wrap printed across the taper squeezes the line gaps at the seam and the word reads as a striped band. Keep the word inside the flat 60 mm centre band, and wrap one cup before the party.
A neon-grid display reads across a field at night where a solid face would block out. The lines hold at 160 mm on a poster, and one neon ink prints the poster and the tote from one separation.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Poster A2, word 160 mm with 15 mm line clearance, details 44 mm, 20 mm margins. Stage banner 3000 x 800 mm, word 280 mm, 60 mm safe edge. Tote print 300 x 300 mm, word 80 mm, 25 mm margins.
Pre-production check
Screen printed on a tote at 80 mm the three lines bridge and fill into one stroke after a wash. Use a 2 mm stencil bridge, and wash one sample before the order.
