Very tall condensed display
Nothing is an extremely tall condensed display in white on a dark, peeling interior: narrow capitals whose tops join a shared bar, with a central diagonal joint across the middle of the word, flat terminals and hairline counters, and tracked caps above and beneath that name the style.

Sturdy stroke walls and open counters weed cleanly on adhesive vinyl, HTV apparel film, and cut cardstock.
Visual anatomy & craft review
The word rises almost to the height of the sheet and the drawing is a very narrow display: the letters are so compressed that the counters become hairlines, the tops of the letters touch a common bar, and a diagonal join crosses the middle of the word. That construction sets both a size floor and a context: at poster scale the strokes are structural, while at body size the counters would close. The plate sets the word tall rather than wide so that a buyer sees the true proportion, and the dark room behind it gives a scale cue without becoming a subject. The tracked lines above and beneath are tiny and plain. Because the letters are this narrow, the face fills a vertical poster or a book spine and it reads at distance on a sign.

Concrete hierarchy, scale and production guidance tailored to Nothing’s stroke geometry.
A very narrow display fills a cover top to bottom in one word, and the compressed counters read as tension rather than as a title.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Set the title at 150 mm cap height across 130 mm, the author in a 14 pt serif, and the imprint at 8 pt. Print one ink on a dark stock with the title reversed out and keep 25 mm margins.
Pre-production check
Check the title at 150 mm, where hairline counters can fill on uncoated stock; specify a coated sheet. Confirm the 8 pt imprint survives and that the title clears the trim by 20 mm.
A brutal condensed face turns a single word into a wall, which is what a night poster needs to stop a passer-by. It holds at arm's length in a dark room.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
A1 poster: the night at 260 mm cap height, the date in a 24 mm sans, and the venue at 12 mm. Keep 30 mm margins and print two colours on a light stock.
Pre-production check
Check the A1 at five metres, where the shared bar can read as a printing fault; keep it deliberate. Confirm the 12 mm venue reads at two metres and that the date clears the block.
A narrow display gives a short name a vertical mark, which suits a narrow shopfront where a wide logo cannot fit. The blade sign carries the name vertically.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Fabricate a 300 by 900 mm blade sign: the name at 240 mm cap height, the hours in a 16 mm sans, and a 3 mm return. Keep 20 mm margins and specify a matte finish.
Pre-production check
Check the blade at 240 mm, where a hairline counter can vanish in metal; open it. Confirm the 16 mm hours read at two metres and that the sign clears the pavement line.
