High contrast display sans
Meridith is a high contrast display sans in white over a folded satin ground: mixed case with tall ascenders, fine curved joins, thick stems and broad bowls, set as one word with a period, beneath a small tracked line above and a short note beneath.

Sturdy stroke walls and open counters weed cleanly on adhesive vinyl, HTV apparel film, and cut cardstock.
Visual anatomy & craft review
The word sits centred on a fabric ground and the drawing is a display sans with strong contrast: the stems are thick, the joins are hairlines, and the bowls are broad, while the ascenders run tall, which gives the face a fashion register without a serif. That construction sets a size floor and a stock requirement, and the plate sets the word large enough that the joins hold. The satin behind it is staging that supplies a warm neutral, and the small lines above and beneath are plain tracked caps that place the studio and the style. Because the contrast is high, the face suits a wordmark, a label and a cover at display sizes, and the period at the end of the sample is worth noting, since it turns the word into a mark rather than a heading.

Concrete hierarchy, scale and production guidance tailored to Meridith’s stroke geometry.
A contrast sans reads as luxury without a serif, and the broad bowls give a short name presence on a small box. Luxury reads without a serif when the contrast is right.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Set the mark at 17 pt on a box, 95 mm on a panel and 12 pt on a card, keeping the hairlines uncut. Keep one colour and clear space equal to the cap height.
Pre-production check
Check the 12 pt card mark, where a hairline join can fill; keep the size above 13 pt. Confirm the box mark reads at four metres and that the mark etches cleanly in metal.
A high contrast sans gives a beauty masthead a couture line, and the broad bowls let a short title fill a cover width. The bowls give the title its width.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Set the masthead at 100 mm cap height across 205 mm, the cover lines in an 8 pt sans, and the issue at 7 pt. Print one ink on a coated stock and keep the masthead clear of the image.
Pre-production check
Check the masthead at 100 mm, where a thin join can break on coated stock; proof it. Confirm the 7 pt issue survives lamination and that the masthead reads at thumbnail size.
A contrast sans gives a contemporary invitation restraint, and the fine joins read as engraved on a smooth card. Engraving rewards a fine join.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
A5 invitation: the names at 24 pt, the request in a 9.5 pt serif, and the date at 8.5 pt caps. Keep 24 mm margins and letterpress one ink on a heavy card.
Pre-production check
Check the 24 pt names in letterpress, where a hairline can sink; proof the plate first. Confirm the request reads at arm's length and that the names clear the trim.
