Visual anatomy & craft review
Kawaii is a plump marshmallow-cord connected script: a fat even stroke with fully rounded ends, letters joined by soft cords, open bowl shapes and a small tilt that keeps the line from looking mechanical. The plump joins close the bowls first, and the cord is the only structural detail. It needs roughly 26 mm for the cord and the rounded bowl to read, and it is best in one soft ink on white, or a pastel plus a knocked-out cord on coloured card where the joins stay visible.

Concrete hierarchy, scale and production guidance tailored to Kawaii’s stroke geometry.
A plump cord script reads as a hand-piped label rather than a printed logo, which is what a sweets maker wants on a jar. The cord holds at 24 mm, and one ink prints the label and the stickers in one order.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Jar label 90 x 60 mm, word 24 mm with 6 mm cord clearance, 5 mm die margin. Sticker 60 x 60 mm, word 18 mm, 4 mm die margin. Card 85 x 55 mm, word 14 mm, 5 mm margins.
Pre-production check
A 60 x 60 mm sticker at 18 mm closes the cord joins into one solid pillow and the name reads as a blob. Raise the sticker word to 26 mm, and check one sheet before the run.
A marshmallow script announces a soft theme in the lettering, so no licensed character is needed. The cords read at 40 mm on an invite, and one ink prints the invite and the labels as one set.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Invite A6, word 40 mm with 8 mm cord clearance, details 8/11 pt, 12 mm margins. Topper 130 x 110 mm, word 44 mm with a 6 mm stick slot and 12 mm clear. Bag label 80 x 50 mm, word 14 mm, 5 mm margins.
Pre-production check
A 130 mm topper cut through a cord join leaves a 1 mm sliver that snaps on the stick. Cut toppers with a 2 mm bridge, and test one before the party.
A plump script reads as a teacher's own lettering rather than a printed award. The cords hold at 140 mm on a display, and one ink prints the display and the stickers in one pass.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Display 1200 x 400 mm, letters 160 mm with 12 mm cord clearance, 20 mm margins. Reward sticker 50 mm round, word 10 mm, 3 mm die margin. Name card 105 x 75 mm, name 18 mm, 5 mm margins.
Pre-production check
At 18 mm on a name card the cords close and the name reads as a grey bar after a term of handling. Raise cards to 24 mm and laminate them, and make one before the class set.
