Sturdy stroke walls and open counters weed cleanly on adhesive vinyl, HTV apparel film, and cut cardstock.
Visual anatomy & craft review
Jersey is a tall condensed athletic sans with a razor-clean inline running inside each stem and bowl, supplied in Outline and Solid styles so a number can be reversed out of a dark jersey. The proportions are narrow enough to set a long surname and a two-digit number on one 300 mm chest panel, and the inline is structural rather than a texture, so it survives a vinyl cut and a screen print. It needs roughly 25 mm before the inline reads as a line, and it is at its best in one light colour on a dark ground or the inverse.

Concrete hierarchy, scale and production guidance tailored to Jersey’s stroke geometry.
An inline stem reproduces the look of a stitched jersey number without embroidery, which is what a school team needs on a print budget. Condensed width lets a long surname sit above a two-digit number on one panel.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Chest print 300 x 200 mm, surname 45 mm above a 160 mm number with a 4 mm inline, 50 mm from the collar and 40 mm margins. Banner 1200 x 400 mm, word 200 mm, 100 mm margins, 5 mm eyelets.
Pre-production check
An inline under 3 mm closes on a polyester jersey printed with plastisol, and the number becomes solid. Keep the inline at 4 mm at delivery size, and wash one printed shirt twice before the team order.
Inline athletic letters read as official kit rather than fan merchandise, which is what a club shop is selling. The Outline style gives a second colour without extra artwork.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Merch print 260 x 150 mm, word 45 mm, 40 mm margins. Banner 2000 x 600 mm, word 320 mm, 120 mm margins, eyelets every 500 mm. Jersey back 300 x 250 mm, name 50 mm, number 170 mm.
Pre-production check
A two-colour inline that relies on registration will show a white sliver if the press slips 0.2 mm. Use a single ink that leaves the base colour as the inline, and check one printed jersey for slivers before the drop.
Athletic inlines carry a season's worth of association, which makes a volunteer gift feel like kit rather than merchandise. Condensed caps fit a full name inside a plaque plate.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Shirt print 260 x 140 mm, surname 45 mm, year numerals 60 mm. Plaque 300 x 200 mm, word 40 mm engraved, 25 mm margins. Card 148 x 105 mm, greeting 14 mm, message 7/10 pt.
Pre-production check
Engraving reverses the artwork, so an inline becomes a raised line that catches light and disappears at an angle. For plaques, use the Solid style and let the metal carry the contrast instead of the inline.
