High-contrast fashion serif with thin hairlines and sculpted stems across nine weights
Augler is a high-contrast fashion serif in which the hairlines stay razor thin, the stems carry sculpted weight and the family runs across nine cuts, so one word can sit light on a cover or heavy in a caption without changing voice.

Visual anatomy & craft review
The g drops a large low loop, the o and e keep broad rounded bowls between thin joins, the capitals hold fine bracketed serifs and the whole face keeps a tight axis with an open tracking. The weight range is the character: the light cut carries a title while the heavy cut holds a short statement, which is why the sample pairs a thin name with a much heavier word below it. Because the hairlines are fine, the light cuts want coated stock from 16 pt and the heavy cuts hold from 10 pt in print. The grainy portrait, the side wording and the small credit are presentation; the white serif lines are the face.

The nine-weight range lets a thin title sit over a heavier standfirst, and the coated-stock hairlines keep a cover head elegant at 72 pt.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print an A4 cover: set the title at 72 pt in a light cut, set the standfirst at 14 pt in a mid cut beneath, and keep 20 mm of clear ground between the two so the hairlines do not crowd.
Pre-production check
Hairlines below 0.25 pt drop out on an uncoated sheet; check the press proof and move the title to coated stock or one weight heavier.
The sculpted stems give a wordmark presence, and the mid cut stays readable at 28 pt on a carton panel without the thin joins closing up.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 55 by 90 mm carton: set the logotype at 28 pt, keep 10 mm of clear space around it, and set the volume and batch line in a 6 pt neutral sans at the foot.
Pre-production check
A fine serif printed over a coloured panel picks up the ground tone; check the proof and keep the panel pale or print a white underlay.
The light cut gives an invitation its formality, and the broad bowls keep a two-name heading readable at 22 pt on heavy card stock.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 130 by 180 mm card: set the names at 22 pt across the middle, set the venue and time at 9 pt in a neutral serif beneath, and keep 18 mm of margin at each side.
Pre-production check
A high-contrast name line printed at 18 pt loses its joins; check the proof and hold the names at 20 pt or above on this card size.
