Bold capitals filled with intricate mandala lace and sturdy outer rims
Evan is a decorative capital set in which each letter keeps a sturdy outer rim and the interior fills with botanical mandala lace, so a short word reads as a drawn ornament rather than as plain lettering.

Sturdy stroke walls and open counters weed cleanly on adhesive vinyl, HTV apparel film, and cut cardstock.
Visual anatomy & craft review
The A carries a rim around a triangular counter filled with petals, the O holds a circular mandala, the E sets three arms with lace inside and every letter keeps its outline thick enough to survive a cut. The lace fill is the character: it makes three to six letters enough for a design, which is why the sample sets a short word on a plain field. Because the fill is fine, the face wants 60 pt before the pattern reads and it holds best as a single decorative word rather than a line of text; long phrases turn the lace into noise. The frame and background in the sample are artwork; the filled letters are the face.

The mandala fill turns a studio name into an ornament, and the sturdy rim keeps a five-letter word legible at 90 mm on a printed panel.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 400 by 300 mm panel: set the word at 90 mm, keep the lace lines at 1.5 mm wide so they stay open, and keep 30 mm of border all round the panel edges.
Pre-production check
Lace lines printed under 1 mm close up and read as a solid block; check the proof and keep the fill at 1.5 mm or wider.
The lace letters read on canvas, and the outer rims stay solid at 50 mm across a printed tote in one flat colour on natural cotton.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 300 mm tote: set the word at 50 mm, keep 20 mm of clear canvas at each side seam, and keep the handle stitching well outside the printed ornament.
Pre-production check
A filigree printed over a bag seam loses part of the pattern; check the template and shift the word 18 mm inward.
The mandala tone suits a calm greeting card, and the rims keep a short word readable at 40 pt on a heavy cream card with a plain ground.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print an A5 card: set the word at 40 pt, keep 22 mm of clear ground beneath for the date and place, and print in one ink on an uncoated stock so the lace sits into the paper.
Pre-production check
A fine lace pattern printed on a coated card looks glossy and flat; check the proof and choose an uncoated sheet.
