Visual anatomy & craft review
Easter Bunny is a four-colour illustrated cartoon in which the letters grow bunny ears and paws: rounded pastel forms with drawn fur edges, ear shapes that rise off the caps and a small paw that replaces a terminal, built as a layered four-colour file. The illustration is the letter, so the ears add height and the fur edge is the finest element. It needs roughly 36 mm for the fur edge and the ear to read, and it is best as a four-colour process print on white, or a two-colour build where the outline carries the shape and the fill stays flat.

An illustrated bunny display is the holiday itself, so a card needs no separate artwork. The ears read at 30 mm, and the layered file prints the card and the signs in one order.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Card 105 x 148 mm, greeting 30 mm with 10 mm ear clearance, message 8/11 pt, 12 mm margins. Hunt sign 400 x 300 mm, word 70 mm, 20 mm margins. Bag label 80 x 50 mm, word 14 mm, 5 mm margins.
Pre-production check
A 80 x 50 mm bag label at 14 mm closes the fur edge into a pastel smear and the ears vanish. Raise the label word to 20 mm, and print one label before the batch.
An illustrated bunny display separates an April birthday from the generic card, which is what a child born that month wants. The paws read at 40 mm, and the four-colour build prints the invite and the wraps as one set.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Invite A6, word 40 mm with 10 mm ear clearance, details 8/11 pt, 12 mm margins. Topper 130 x 110 mm, word 44 mm with a 6 mm stick slot and 12 mm clear. Cup wrap 200 x 90 mm, word 20 mm, 12 mm from the rim.
Pre-production check
A 130 mm topper cut through an ear leaves a 1 mm fur island that snaps off on the stick. Cut toppers to the outer silhouette, and test one before the party.
An illustrated display turns a spring page into its own cover art, which is what a children's issue wants at the top. The fur edge holds at 64 pt on a coated page, and the layered file keeps the four colours separated from the body text.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Cover 210 x 297 mm, title 64 pt with 12 mm ear clearance, cover lines 10/14 pt, 18 mm margins. Activity header 36 pt. Pull quote 32 pt with 8 mm above.
Pre-production check
At 32 pt on a pull quote the four colour bands misregister on uncoated paper and the fur edge doubles. Keep illustrated type on coated stock at 40 pt and above, and proof one sheet at 1:1.
