Angular collegiate capitals edged by a fine dark line and a pale contour
College is an angular collegiate slab in which the caps clip their bowl corners, the slab feet run broad and a fine dark contour with a pale outer edge separates the faces from whatever ground they sit on.

Visual anatomy & craft review
The C clips its terminals into straight cuts, the O squares its shoulders, the L drops a heavy stem into a wide foot and the E stacks three even arms, all at a varsity weight with a fine inner line and a pale outer edge. The double edge is the character: it is what keeps an orange face readable on navy, which is why the sample arches one word over a second. Because the contour is thin, the face needs 34 pt before the inner line reads and it layers as two colours in print; in vinyl the outer edge has to be welded separately. The date, the introduction and the lower caption are presentation; the arched collegiate caps are the face.

Concrete hierarchy, scale and production guidance tailored to College’s stroke geometry.
The double edge separates the team name from a dark jersey, and the angular slabs stay solid at 85 mm across a chest print.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 320 mm chest print: set the team name at 85 mm, print the pale outer edge first and the orange face over it, and leave 40 mm of clear fabric for the number.
Pre-production check
A contour printed under 1 mm disappears at sewing distance; check the film and keep the outer edge at 1.5 mm minimum.
The arched setting suits a doorway sign, and the collegiate blocks hold at two inches of cap height across a 900 mm board.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 900 by 300 mm board: arch the top word over the lower one, keep 30 mm between the two rows so the contour does not touch, and keep 35 mm of border all round.
Pre-production check
Two arched rows printed close merge their contours; check the board and open the gap by 8 mm.
The outlined caps compress into a badge, and the layered edge stays clear at 22 mm on a 60 mm printed roundel where a single flat cut would merge.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 60 mm roundel: set the word at 22 mm, keep the outer pale edge 3 mm inside the printed circle, and set the date in a 7 pt caps along the lower arc.
Pre-production check
An outline printed across the roundel edge breaks the circle; check the die and keep 3 mm of clear ground at the rim.
